Bittersweet Memory

One call ~ Gotta go
Through all the Hell Heaven can sow.
Stopping to pray
along the way
Gives us strength
when the Devil's in the frey.

"Just how bad do you want this?"
a shadow asks of me

The first step is the hardest
It starts with "ya gotta believe!"

Faith succumbs to bravery
as you give the shadow a hug...
Showing love creates more scorn
as she tempts your first born,
And then cries as your mother leaves for Heaven,
like a sister in some bittersweet memory

Why are you in here alone?
Because you refuse to open your heart

Why do you cry all alone?
Because you refuse to follow your heart.

Why do you feel afraid?
Because I'm only one heart.
