Silence Remembered

Silence forgot the laughter
Laughter forgot the pain
Pain forgot the happiness
Happiness loved the rain

Rain ran from the sunshine
leaving the rainbow alone
Now just a fleeting promise
to remember when we're grown

That silence is often golden
and some laugh when they're in pain
and happiness can't be measured
on a scale by what we gain
.

And Silence remembered the laughter
and laughter recalled the pain
And pain begot the happiness,
Cause happiness loved the rain
